Planning a kids party involves so many things, which include the games, decorations, themes, gifts and of course the snacks. Snacks are important and you need to ensure that everyone gets enough to eat.

Remember a lot of kids are fussy eaters, even if your child is not, so err on the side of caution. Concentrate on child friendly and fun party snacks and let your gourmet cooking standards slip for once, but do bear in mind that too much sugary foods and drinks can cause very hyperactive children.

Remember to plan ahead:

The time of day for the party will influence the type of party snacks that you may want to provide. If you're having the party mid morning or mid afternoon, snacks should be fine. Think about how much you and the kids would normally eat around that time of day. Plan how many kids are coming and allow at least 3 different savory as well as  2 sweet party food choices as well as the cake. Don't forget that some kids are allergic to certain foods, especially to nuts.

Prepare as much party food as you can in advance. Make use of your freezer if you have one, as you really won't want to be doing much cooking on the day. Leave yourself time to be having fun with the kids.

Ask yourself how much time you have, how good your baking skills are and what your budget is like. If you have time and would like to bake something special for your child, then the choice is obvious. Do this by buying a packet cake mix and decorating the goodies yourself. Your child will love to help I'm sure!

Setting up the party food table:

Just make sure the table is accessible for all the kids attending the party. You don't want anyone going home afterwards, complaining that they didn't get anything to eat, simply because they couldn't reach to grab a snack.

Also make sure that you get enough to eat as well, because you don't really want to be cooking later the evening for the family.
